THE CABIN

Sorry, if you loved the sweet little cabin on Deep Bottom Cove on Martha’s Vineyard. Sadly, it is no longer available for rent. However, we still rent out the bigger house, “The Camp on Deep Bottom Cove” from May to September. If you love Tisbury Great Pond and enjoy slow living, minimal electricity, a rustic house with a killer view, you’re in the right place. Reach out to us for availability. Dkombol (at) Danica.me

The Cabin is the perfect rustic cottage on Tisbury Great Pond. Our beautifully designed and maintained gem of a cabin offers one bedroom (plus convertible couch), full kitchen and bathroom, outdoor shower & more in a close-to-nature setting.

The cabin nestles peacefully in a secluded spot on Deep Bottom Cove, one of the small ‘finger coves’ of Tisbury Great Pond, in West Tisbury. The surroundings are unspoiled, with extraordinary views, birds, sunsets, vegetation, walks, swimming, and boating. There are only a couple of houses in distant view. If you like being off the grid, and value privacy and peace, this is the place for you.

The water is a thirty-second walk from the house, where you can swim, sail, canoe, and kayak in the quiet pond or all the way out to South Beach.

The cabin has gas lights as well as electric lamps, but no TV or other gadgets. The kitchen is small but fully equipped. There is a full bathroom with tub plus an outdoor shower. There are electrical outlets throughout so you can plug in anything you bring.

Rare amongst MV summer house rentals, this rustic retreat gives you access to the ‘quiet’ side of the island, but is also a great base for visiting the wonderful galleries, restaurants, and stores in the island towns.

Off-season: It is particularly nice to visit the cabin in the off-season, and we offer Martha’s Vineyard off-season rentals weekly at reduced rates. The cabin is on the road that is the winter entrance to the Trustees of Reservations’ Long Point Wildlife Refuge. Before June 15 and after September 15 the gate to the refuge is open, so you can walk or drive out there in just a few minutes. This gives you easier access to South Beach. The cabin is beautiful in any weather, and the huckleberry scrub is particularly lovely in spring and fall. The snug cabin has a wood stove for heat and warms up very nicely!

Our houses rent weekly from Thursday-Thursday. We find that this works well for renters as ferry reservations are much more accessible on Thursdays!
