The Lewis Camp on offers an opportunity to explore a completely natural setting on Martha’s Vineyard. This place is a haven for bird-watchers, kayakers, and nature lovers of all stripes. You’ll have access to activities and sights that are not available with most Martha’s Vineyard house rentals. Many of the Martha’s Vineyard nature experiences are wonderfully kid-friendly. - Swim in calm, private pond waters (bathing suits optional!)
- Sail, canoe, or kayak with boats we provide: either in our quiet cove or all the way out to the ocean (great way to access South Beach without having to deal with parking)
- Fish, dig for crabs, or rake for oysters
- Enjoy incredible birdwatching (herons, ospreys, and cormorants especially common on the pond)
- Acquaint yourself with the resident hummingbirds that frequent our feeders
- Observe other wildlife: otters, seals, turtles, deer, and more
- Take in peaceful sunrises and sunsets over the water
- Stargaze from the deck without any light pollution (it’s spectacular)
- Pick wild blueberries off the bush in the yard
- Search for arrowheads while walking our deserted dirt road
- Meditate in the property’s uninterrupted silence and serenity
