The Lewis Camp on offers an opportunity to explore a completely natural setting on Martha’s Vineyard. With nary another house in site, you overlook Deep Bottom Cove which feeds into Tisbury Great Pond. This place is a haven for bird-watchers, kayakers, paddle-boarders, windsurfers and nature lovers of all stripes. You’ll have access to activities and sights that are not available with most Martha’s Vineyard house rentals. Some of our favorites…
- Swim in calm, private pond waters
- Sail, canoe, or kayak with boats we provide: either in our quiet cove or all the way out to the ocean (great way to access South Beach without having to deal with parking)
- Paddle-board or windsurf
- Fish, dig for crabs, or rake for oysters
- Enjoy incredible birdwatching (herons, swans, geese, ospreys, egrets and cormorants are among many species)
- Acquaint yourself with the resident hummingbirds that frequent our feeders
- Observe other wildlife: otters, seals, turtles, deer, turkeys and more
- Take in peaceful sunrises and sunsets over the water
- Stargaze from the deck without any light pollution (it’s spectacular)
- Pick wild blueberries or beach plums off the bushes around the house
- Search for arrowheads while walking the deserted dirt roads
- Meditate in the property’s uninterrupted silence and serenity
